Tebogo Sephiri is a 24 year-old young man who was born and bred in Ivory Park ext12. He was raised by his mother and has four siblings.


Tebogo is asking the members of his community to vote for him and his party UDM in this years upcoming elections. "UDM which means United Democratic Movement is a party that advocates for a better South Africa which puts the people first."

He is councilor candidate for ward 111 which covers Ivory Park ext12, Ebony Park and Kaalfontein Ext 1 & 2. The 24 year-old is up against 24 other political parties and he is asking the members of his community to vote for him in the upcoming elections which tales place on Monday the first of November 2020.


He believes he can bring change and make a big difference. The reason why he became a councilor candidate in his ward, is because he wants change.


He added on to say that: "We have been promised change by other past ward councilors yet we have not seen change."


The 24 year-old ward councilor candidate said that ward 111 has faced a lot of challenges. If he wins, he would make a difference in the youth by focusing on curbing the rise of unemployment.


"I plan to start campaigns and run skills development projects which will benefit the youth and the community to find jobs."


He plans to to make sure that the people in his community receives basic government services without being discriminated.


According to Sephiri, being a ward councilor means helping the community. "Being a leader in your community, and being able to serve and hear the problems your community has"


The wise words the councilor had for the public were: "Dreams delayed are not dreams denied," which means no matter how many times you fall and fall, and no matter how long you have been working hard and not achieved anything, just don't give up. Eventually you will succeed with your dreams.


Not only is he passionate about politics and the future of South Africa, but the young man is also equipping himself with education as he is currently doing his second year in Bachelor of Education at UNISA.


"Voting for UDM means you will be ruling fixed out corruption and choosing a government with integrity and dignity. Make the right choice."
