It takes a village to raise a child and a perfect example of this is Xabiso Gana and his partner Zinhle Masikane who recently opened their own community based Netball team.

Emsini Netball team which was founded by 27 year-old Xabiso Gana in 2021 gave new hope to the girls of the community of Palmridge Extension 4.

This comes after the 27 year-old Gana noticed that the girls in his surrounding area don't have anything positive to do. He realised that the Corona virus only made things worse especially with the youth in Palmridge not being able to go to school everyday since the inception on the very first level 1 lockdown.

He seized the opportunity to create his own netball team and it started operating in February 2021.

He and his 29 year-old co-founder Zinhle Masikane who also happens to be the coach of Emsini Netball team worked together ever since with it running for almost seven months now.

They have two divisions, one for under 13 and one for under 17 and upwards. There's no age restriction so anyone is welcome to join.

"We have never played in any leagues, however, we have participated in different tournaments" said Zinhle the netball coach.

She added on to say the those who want to join and be part of Emsini Netball team should go to Palmridge Extension 4 and register or on Facebook at Emsini Champions
